Summary: Water and sewer relocations in high profile highway, urban and hospital zone of Charleston, SC. Project contained multiple utility conflicts, traffic issues and coordination with other work. Much of the work was performed at night. Traffic closures overnight had to be cleared by morning. Triad engineered multiple changes caused by utility conflicts, traffic control planning and layouts for the work.

Scope: Water and sewer relocations. 1,130 LF of 16” watermain and 16” offset watermain. 2,100 LF of 8” DIP watermain along Highway 17; Spring Street from Lockwood Blvd to President Street. The 8 inch watermain work was performed at night. Multiple watermain lowerings from 4” – 16” diameter in city streets and intersections. Multiple sanitary sewer repairs and installation of new main ranging in size from 8” – 30”.

Traffic control design and implementation completed by Triad Engineering & Contracting to meet SCDOT specifications.
